About the Role
We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our Performance Solutions Operating Company accounting team. In this role, you will provide valued accounting support and partnership to our businesses within a world‑class manufacturing enterprise. You will help ensure accurate financial reporting, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate closely with a variety of cross‑functional partners. This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
Pay and Benefits:
- $73,000 - $94,000 per year

Responsibilities
- Complete month‑end closing tasks for the general ledger and fixed assets, including preparation and posting of journal entries, reclassifications, and accruals.
- Reconcile general ledger and fixed asset accounts monthly to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
- Perform quarterly general ledger and fixed asset activities, including reconciliation, exception reporting, and other related tasks.
- Manage the complete fixed asset accounting lifecycle, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
- Review, maintain, and implement processes to ensure compliance with US GAAP and strong internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide reporting and analysis to the Finance team and other relevant functions.
- Support independent financial audits by ensuring proper documentation and timely responses to auditor inquiries.
- Provide general ledger support across Operating Companies, fostering collaboration and consistency.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 2 years of general ledger or public accounting experience.
- Demonstrated general ledger accounting knowledge.
- US GAAP knowledge and experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to communicate accounting concepts to non‑financial associates.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong attention to detail, follow‑through, and ownership of assigned areas.
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in fixed asset accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Public accounting experience.
- MBA in accounting or business-related discipline, CPA or CMA certifications.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
