About the Role
W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. is seeking a versatile and experienced Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. This role requires a broad range of technical expertise to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical manufacturing and lab equipment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative team. The schedule would be Mon-Fri 2:00pm-10:30pm.
This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits:
- $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
- This role is eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay for evening, night, and weekend shifts (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour).
- Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment in both manufacturing and lab environments
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate into major problems
- Perform basic to intermediate fabrications and machine modifications using standard machine shop tools and equipment
- Support continuous improvement activities
- Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and quality systems to document completed maintenance tasks
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and provide on-call support as required, including off-shift and weekend coverage
- Coordinate with teams across the division, including production, skilled trades, and technical associates, to optimize scheduling efficiency and minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations
- Pursue continuous personal development aligned with business needs and current commitments
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on Manufacturing and Lab equipment, evaluating effectiveness (content and frequency) and making necessary changes following our quality system guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Journey level skills demonstrated by at least three years of experience in an industrial production facility, coupled with additional formal training, OR completion of at least three years apprenticeship program
- Proficiency in using shop equipment such as lathes, mills, and drill presses for repairs and fabrications
- Strong understanding of pneumatics and hydraulic systems
- Basic electrical skills and knowledge of OSHA, NEC, and NFPA codes
- Proficient in desktop computer applications, including MS Office
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Flexibility to respond to on-call emergencies and willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs
- Ability to travel to 5%
Desired Qualifications
- Competent welding and fabrication skills (mig, tig. stick)
- Computerized Maintenance Management system experience
- Web handling experience and PLC exposure
This role requires pre-hire medical clearance by Gore which may include testing to assess visual acuity and/or the ability to wear specific safety equipment as required during the performance of the role.
