About the Role

We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our Gore Fabrics accounting team.  In this role, you will be part of a team providing valued accounting support and partnership to our businesses within a world class manufacturing enterprise.

 

 

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

 

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $90,000 - $102,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Complete month-end closing tasks for the general ledger, including preparation and posting of journal entries, reclassifications, and various other accruals
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Perform quarterly General Ledger activities, such as reconciliations, exception reporting, and other related tasks
  • Review, maintain, and implement processes to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Perform regular reviews of cost center balances to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Provide reporting and analysis to the Finance Team, and other relevant functions as needed
  • Support the independent financial audit
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls
  • Provide general ledger support across Operating Companies as needed fostering collaboration and consistency
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure alignment and to support the changing needs of internal customers

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of general ledger or public accounting experience
  • Demonstrated general ledger accounting knowledge
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • US GAAP knowledge and experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to build relationships and be a strong business partner
  • Can communicate accounting concepts to non-financial associates
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to travel up to 5%

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Retail accounting or Inventory Controls experience 
  • Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools; Experience with SAP B1 HANA a plus 

 

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed.  Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
