About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Supply Chain Analytics team and support our mission of generating actionable supply chain insights. In this role, you will develop and support data pipelines that deliver data to analytics data marts and applications, develop new analytics datasets using modeling techniques to enrich existing data, and prototype end-user tools leveraging evolving best practices. You will partner cross-functionally to advance analytics maturity across the Gore Component Technology supply chain and maintain data continuity through digital transformation initiatives such as SAP deployment. This position offers flexible work arrangement options: on-site or hybrid at our facility in Elkton, Maryland or Flagstaff, Arizona with the possibility of a future remote work arrangement in most locations within the United States

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with supply chain and technical teams to understand stakeholder needs, then prototype and develop new data tools or visualizations
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure using a suite of data and ETL tools, connecting data sources, data marts, and analytics applications
  • Work with large and complex datasets that span multiple areas of the organization; serve as a subject matter expert for data modeling and extracting data for self-service reporting and ad hoc analyses
  • Diagnose issues with data flows and sources, apply technical solutions and collaborate with team members to make process improvements where needed
  • Establish and maintain quality, confidence and shared understanding of data resources through process improvements, documentation, and testing
  • Conduct statistical analyses and build predictive and prescriptive models to support data-driven decision making
  • Collaborate with the Data Science and Engineering Team to advance tools, infrastructure and processes to take advantage of emerging technologies and methods
  • Promote best practices in data management, analysis, and communication of insights
  • Maintain compliance with training expectations as required for this position

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business or related quantitative discipline 
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in data analysis, data science or data engineering
  • Experience building data pipelines or integrations to provide data to applications, including systematization with ETL tools or applications
  • Expertise working with large datasets using database platforms and/or cloud data infrastructure
  • Expertise profiling data to determine its characteristics, identify issues and implement methods to clean and improve it
  • Expertise in analytical methodologies including statistical analyses, data visualizations, predictive modeling, or operational dashboards
  • Proficiency with data manipulation, visualization, modeling and analysis tools, such as Power BI, Databricks, SQL, Python, or KNIME
  • Solid knowledge of data engineering principles, including role-based access control, and ability to apply this knowledge in manufacturing and supply chain environments
  • Strong project execution and communication skills, including the ability to define projects, set stakeholder expectations, organize work streams and deliver solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of partners in complex projects

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related quantitative discipline
  • Experience with systems supporting manufacturing and supply chain (e.g., ERP, PLM, MES)
  • Strong perspective on best practice for data design, visualization and interpretation

 

This position offers a remote work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
