About the Role
We are seeking an energized and passionate Associate to provide direct leadership for a cross-functional team of twelve on our East Coast Facility Team. This team is responsible for all aspects of Facilities Management for our facilities located in Elkton, Maryland. This leader will be accountable for effective facilities support at these two facilities including forecasting, portfolio management, resource management, and compliance.
Pay and Benefits
- $142,000 - $184,000 per year
- Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics

Responsibilities
- Mentor, sponsor, and lead Associates on a cross-functional salary and non-exempt Facility Team providing regular feedback and coaching, directly supporting the performance & development, and annual contribution & compensation process
- Ensure effective resourcing of all team responsibilities including supporting capital and large expense projects, regulatory and environmental compliance, operations, repair, and maintenance of existing equipment and infrastructure
- Drive effective asset life cycle management of building envelopes, building infrastructure, HVACR equipment, plumbing, water systems, pollution control equipment, electrical power distribution, controls infrastructure, life safety systems and building utilities, providing ownership of this equipment from strategic investment planning to initial implementation support, to asset obsolescence including high utilization of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Leveraging Gore Business Systems lean manufacturing tools, processes, and KPIs to measure and drive performance of the team and resolve problems within the work they support including facilitation of daily management meetings
- Support and implement common standards and processes in collaboration with the other Facility Leadership team in Arizona
- Directly responsible for promoting excellent team health and contribution, resolving differences, and ultimately developing and maintaining a high performing team
- Responsible for the selection and management of external companies/contractors including contract management and investments in partnership with procurement and facility Associates who have experience with local contractors and the unique operational needs of the sites
- Partner with team members to develop and drive performance against a robust minimum 5 year financial forecast for capital and large expense investments and operating expenses. Ensure effective financial support and resourcing of all team responsibilities supporting and guiding team through financial approval and governance prioritization processes
- Establishes clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and acts immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Facility Management or related discipline AND a minimum of 2 years' experience in technical leadership OR complex project management OR a minimum of 6 years facilities management experience AND a minimum of 2 years experience in technical leadership or complex project management
- Demonstrated excellence at coordinating a team of associates to achieve common goals, mentoring and coaching associates to achieve business results and grown in their skill and responsibility
- Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to apply them to development, optimization, and troubleshooting activities
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, organize and drive multiple projects concurrently from development to completion utilizing project management best practices
- Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and influence peers and leadership as well as be self-motivated and directed when working independently
- Demonstrated ability to identify critical issues and failure modes, creating a framework of action to address these issues and assess root cause including effective risk-based decision making
- Knowledge of the relevant regulatory requirements and codes for the scope of influence for this role
- Proven ability to plan, organize and develop documentation and communications in support of complex projects or initiatives
- Demonstrated aptitude toward facility design, construction and operation
- Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with clear understanding of equitable practices.
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Desired Qualifications
- Direct experience with facilities HVAC systems, electrical power supply systems or building construction methods and materials
- Direct experience with CMMS Systems, preferred experience with EAM.
- CFM or PMI Certification
