About the Role
We are looking for a Global Brand Manager / Product Specialist to join the Surgical Solutions business in the Hernia and Obesity Category. In this role, you will be accountable for the global product lifecycle and Fitness for Use (FFU) of a product. As part of the team, you will work closely with team members from various disciplines, including sales, marketing communications, engineering, manufacturing, clinical affairs, regulatory, health economics, legal, and business as well as global key opinion leaders and physicians to ensure that product and business objectives are achieved.
This is a hybrid or remote work arrangement. The candidate’s experience will determine which work arrangement is appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of product management (marketing, product specialist, and/or clinical application specialist) experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries
- Experience in marketing and marketing-related business practices (marketing/business strategy, marketing planning, product management, product lifecycle management, market research, and communications)
- Experience with risk management activities and documentation
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and in ambiguous situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Proactive work style, working both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to influence and integrate individuals and cross-functional teams as well as external partners (e.g., physicians) to execute against strategic plans
- Ability to read, interpret, and communicate scientific or clinical publications and data
- Ability to undertake domestic and international travel, approximately 30%
Responsibilities
- Develop and propose global product roadmap based on therapeutic, competitive, and customer insights
- Accountable for waterline decisions related to FFU. Ensure device FFU throughout the product lifecycle, including defining safety and efficacy requirements in diverse applications.
- Collaborate with the Regional Brand Managers to define and implement marketing strategies to maximize the utilization and financial return on current products
- Direct global go-to-market strategies for new product launches, including market and customer requirements, launch cadence, core messaging, and promotional tactics
- Propose, evaluate, and execute product lifecycle management activities related to SKU rationalization, launch, and discontinuation, using market research, customer input, and internal stakeholder feedback to drive decisions
- Develop and apply deep knowledge of disease state and product clinical use to inform technical requirements for NPD (user needs, design inputs, and testing conditions). Own key marketing deliverables and collaborate with regional brand managers, regional product specialists, and R&D to define customer requirements and design inputs for new product development, ensuring successful launches and product lifecycle management
- Lead the development and communication of product value propositions and claims with regional partners and Global MarCom, drive integrated evidence plan (IEP) process to inform data generation plans and priorities, and ensure all claims and reference data in MLR are accurate, supported by objective evidence, and approved
- Apply understanding of clinical needs, procedures, and product fitness for use to navigate events, risks, benefits, testing, and clinical and regulatory plans
- Support manufacturing operations to ensure product quality while promoting efficiency and product supply.
- Interface with external clinical customers on product usage, therapeutic needs, and clinical research activities. Ensure clinical and technical accuracy of external communications (marketing materials, regulatory submissions, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- MBA
- Background in the hernia and/or obesity category
- Previous experience in a global role, supporting a clinical trial, launching products, and supporting commercial products
This role requires ongoing access to U.S. hospitals and compliance with facility-specific access policies (which may include a requirement to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated with one of the COVID-19 vaccines), vendor credentialing requirements including drug screening, background checks, immunization and training.
This position offers a remote work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
