About the Role

We are looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provide operations and industrial engineering support to a three shift, commercial manufacturing team.  The role is a member of a cross-functional team that will drive projects, execute on initiatives and support day-to-day operations in alignment with business outcomes.

 

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

 

Pay and Benefits: 

  • $95,000 - $133,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Apply industrial engineering fundamentals for process improvement and problem solving
  • Support capacity planning process by managing data collection, capacity modeling, and analyzing and prioritizing capacity improvements
  • Drive quantitative decision making through use of data analytics and simulation modeling
  • Develop, implement and support manufacturing and supply chain processes to establish optimized, scalable product and material flow
  • Lead cross functional projects to successful completion utilizing project management skillset
  • Apply Lean principles to design and improve manufacturing and other business process; coaching and mentoring other associates on Lean methodology
  • Understand and apply software related to ERP, PLM, CAD, Microsoft Office suites, project management, discrete event simulation, and statistical analysis
  • Leverage broad supply chain knowledge to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities across the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Effectively communicate and influence individuals, teams, and across the organization
  • Maintain compliance with training expectations as required for this position

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline with transferrable knowledge and experiences
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant engineering or operations experience
  • Solid knowledge of industrial engineering fundamentals including the ability to apply this knowledge in manufacturing environments
  • Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles and methodologies
  • Experience in line design and/or plan equipment layouts
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects, utilizing project management tools, and contributing effectively as a team member
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, take initiate, and drive projects to completion
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 5%

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a regulated industry
  • Class II or Class III medical device manufacturing experience

 

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
