About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer to join the Gore Component Technologies team. In this role, you will support three-shift, complex commercial manufacturing and development of materials used in medical devices and biopharmaceutical manufacturing applications. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about bringing Lean manufacturing practices and operational effectiveness to products that improve lives. As part of a cross-functional team, you will drive projects, execute initiatives and support day-to-day operations in alignment with business objectives.

 

This position will be located at our Cherry Hill facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of project work at other plants in Elkton.

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $95,000 - $133,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Apply Industrial Engineering fundamentals and Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to solve problems and make process improvements
  • Drive data-based decision making through use of data analytics, and perform scenario analysis using simulation tools to support impact planning for changes in the operation
  • Optimize material flow, standardize work, drive out waste and inefficiencies, and reduce lead times by applying Lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Lead cross functional projects to successful completion utilizing project management skillset, and maintain ownership for processes and outcomes where appropriate
  • Apply Lean principles to design and improve manufacturing and other business processes
  • Coach and mentor other associates on Lean methodology
  • Apply software related to quality system procedures, ERP, MES, CAD, Microsoft Office suites, project management, discrete event simulation, and statistical analysis
  • Leverage broad supply chain knowledge to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities across the end-to-end supply chain
  • Support capacity planning process by managing data collection, modeling capacity, and analyzing and prioritizing capacity improvements
  • Effectively communicate and influence individuals, teams, and across the organization

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline AND a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role
  • Hands-on experience driving structured problem solving and process improvements in a manufacturing environment using formal methodologies and tools
  • Knowledge of and experience applying Lean manufacturing principles and tools to drive out waste, reduce inefficiency, and standardize work and flow
  • Knowledge of Industrial Engineering fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, initiate, drive to completion, and concurrently manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects, utilizing project management tools, and contributing effectively as a team member
  • Experience performing simulation analysis
  • Ability to create and work from Engineering drawings, including work cell layouts
  • Ability to successfully interact with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and influence others as well as work independently
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Desired Qualifications

  • Class II or Class III medical device or biopharmaceutical manufacturing experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification
