About the Role
We are looking for a Quality Control Testing associate to join our Gore Fabrics Quality Testing Lab team and work the 3rd Shift. This role focuses on performing routine product release and process monitoring tests within the QC laboratory, while also providing testing support to engineering teams. As a QC Lab Associate, you will play a key role in upholding the high quality standards that are essential to our operations. Standard hours are 11:00 pm – 7:30 am, Monday through Friday.
This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits:
- $25 - $33 per hour

Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety and environmental practices, including proper chemical waste management and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Organize and perform routine testing of QC samples and non‑production (R&D support) samples using a wide range of instrumentation, including tensile testing, thermal analysis, MVTR, water entry pressure, porometry, airflow, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry.
- Accurately record and maintain test data in designated platforms such as MES, Excel, and TEAMS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with QC instrumentation, performing periodic maintenance to ensure reliability and accuracy.
- Provide testing support for internal and external customers on characterization and validation projects.
- Assist in validation efforts for new test equipment to ensure compliance and readiness for production or R & D use.
- Develop and maintain procedures, including writing new protocols and revising existing ones to reflect best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers to address issues, identify trends, and share observations that support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in science or engineering, or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control testing environment.
- Strong computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and Teams, with a basic knowledge of MES and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to advanced systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to follow detailed written procedures with accuracy and consistency.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring precision in testing and documentation.
- Effective problem‑solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve issues.
- Capability to recommend improvements to existing test methods and procedures through standardized processes.
- Demonstrated success working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to learn and apply a variety of new tests and laboratory instrumentation.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in a science or engineering discipline.
- Hands‑on experience with a broad range of instrumentation and techniques, including tensile testing, thermal analysis, MVTR, water entry pressure, porometry, airflow, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry.
- Prior experience working within established quality systems, with proficiency in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and/or Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and basic knowledge of statistics with statistical analysis.
