About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Associate to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support our business by driving end-to-end quality of product and effectivity of processes that are aligned with customer and external requirements. This role includes providing critical day-to-day quality support of our products and processes.  

 

This role will be based at one of our facilities in Elkton, Maryland with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement (4 days in plant).

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $80,000 - $95,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, interpretation, and assistance in the application of quality processes and practices to ensure the quality of our systems
  • Translate quality standard requirements into procedures, practices, and behaviors
  • Support and/or drive training, training assignment and establishment of training requirements for the quality management system
  • Collaborate and influence manufacturing and functional teams in efforts to prevent and correct quality issues
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement changes in the quality-management system based on observed quality trends
  • Support and/or drive initiatives aligned with the priorities
  • Originate, review, and/or approve documents ensuring clarity, completeness, and accuracy
  • Conduct internal quality audits and supports external quality audits

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of quality assurance experience supporting compliance to ISO requirements 
  • Experience driving projects with the ability to initiate, prioritize, and successfully complete and experience improving processes using lean methods/tools
  • Proven experience working effectively in team situations and as an individual contributor 
  • Proven experience supporting sales and operations execution
  • Proven experience supporting U.S. government defense quality assurance process requirements
  • Demonstrated behavior that models the Gore culture to achieve an inclusive environment and exceptional business results
  • Demonstrated networking and influencing skills; ability to collaborate and influence effectively across a broad range of associates spanning varied disciplines and responsibilities 
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Professional working style with hands-on involvement 
  • Ability to travel less than 5%

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/or industry training or certification(s) 
  • Experience with Lotus Notes QSI or Achiever+/Reliance/SAP/LIMS
  • Experience performing internal audits and solving complex problems using root cause analysis tools
