About the Role

Gore Fabrics is looking for a Supplier Quality Assurance Associate to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will participate in the evaluation, qualification, and monitoring of Gore’s sourcing of externally provided components, supplies, and services. You will work in conjunction with development, manufacturing, procurement, raw materials, warehouse, and supplier teams to evaluate and monitor suppliers’ quality systems and performance to meet Gore’s requirements.

 

This position will be located in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement. 

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $65,000 - $80,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for making sure our suppliers and the raw materials they provide meet all requirements
  • Perform supplier qualification activities including conducting audits, working with suppliers to help them understand Gore Fabric’s quality requirements and close gaps in their quality systems or processes
  • Drive supplier risk assessment evaluation, developing mitigation plans, and provide quality supply chain risks during commercialization phase in partnership with a cross-functional team
  • Perform supplier-related activities such as defining performance metrics, completing/evaluating supplier score cards, monitoring activities, continuous improvement, etc. 
  • Use quantitative analysis to identify high-risk suppliers and develop strategies for mitigating risks in supplier quality systems 
  • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams on material problems to reduce and/or eliminate impact on the supply chain 
  • Create and close Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and internal corrective actions 
  • Identify and drive implementation of supplier management continuous improvement changes in the quality-management system 
  • Perform incoming inspection activities as needed to support continuous supply

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of supplier quality or quality assurance experience, with a minimum 2 years supporting compliance to GMP, ISO, or international regulatory requirements 
  • Experience performing internal, external or supplier audits 
  • Experience with supplier risk assessment evaluation and developing mitigation plans
  • Proven ability to manage supplier-related activities such as defining performance metrics, completing/evaluating supplier score cards, monitoring activities, continuous improvement, etc. 
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams on material problems to reduce and/or eliminate impact on the supply chain  
  • Ability to create, manage and close Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and internal corrective actions  
  • Proven experience working effectively in team situations and as an individual contributor 
  • Demonstrated networking and influencing skills; ability to collaborate and influence effectively across a broad range of associates spanning varied disciplines and responsibilities 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to travel 15%

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related field and/or industry training or certification(s) in Lean manufacturing methods/tools such as structured problem solving, Lean Six Sigma, etc. 
  • Certified Lead Auditor certificate and/or ASQ Supplier Quality Professional Certification (CSQP)
  • Experience in chemical industry

 

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
