About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Category Manager for Contract Manufacturing and Raw Materials to join our Filtration team. In this role, you will strategically lead the sourcing, development and maintenance of our contract manufacturing partners and raw material suppliers for our Textiles, Sewing, Felting/Lamination and Bag Making categories in the US and EMEA, partnering closely with the sourcing team in Asia. You will also support multiple program teams and development activities.
This position will be located in our Fair Hill plant with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement.
Pay and Benefits:
- $105,000 - $150,000 per year
- Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the development of the category strategies and implementation plans aligned with company processes and objectives, in cooperation with the Supply Chain team and key stakeholders for Textiles, Sewing, Felting/Lamination and bag making. May require developing specific sub-category strategies
- Gather and analyze relevant data on key market trends affecting category strategies to develop increased understanding of market dynamics and implement go-to-market strategies that optimize supply base
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing activities such as spend analysis, benchmarking, supply market analysis, supplier analysis, RFI/RFP building, supplier contract negotiations and implementation/monitoring of the negotiated terms, price analysis, should-cost modeling, make versus buy analysis & outsourcing product lifecycle management
- Own and manage supplier relationships; develop and implement a structured process for establishing and reviewing supplier management goals, including supplier performance metrics, delivery on time, quality, yield improvement, etc. in support of unique business, technical and sustainability needs and objectives for continuous improvement. Negotiate and implement action plans to keep metrics on track
- Drive supplier compliance with regulatory requirements and development of new suppliers, identify high risk suppliers and develop risk mitigation plans
- Build relationships with suppliers to leverage and expand access to new technologies
- Monitor supply risks and constraints and develop appropriate risk mitigation plans
- Participate to cross-functional team’s activities to meet Business goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional Teams (Planning, Quality, Procurement, Engineering,…) to transfer strategic requirements to ensure efficient core purchasing activities
- Recognize and protect Gore’s intellectual property
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing/Category Management in complex global manufacturing environment
- Strategic mindset capable of embedding and aligning procurement processes and goals with overall business objectives and anticipating future market trends and challenges
- Strong communications skills and capability to drive difficult negotiations to successful outcomes
- Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional projects
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement a sourcing strategy
- Demonstrated ability to hold others accountable, both within teams and with suppliers
- Ability to collaborate in global teams with the ability to build relationships and influence a decision-making process
- Ability to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally
