About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Integrator (TI) Leader to join the Surgical Solutions team. In this role, you will provide leadership to engineers, technicians, and future Technical Integrators supporting the Surgical Solutions Business to ensure products are developed in alignment with business, operation, and supply chain strategies. The Surgical Solutions TI leader will ensure that the technical New Product Development (NPD) teams are equipped to integrate and deliver on both product and process designs that meet the fitness-for-use and business objectives.

 

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $160,000 - $165,000 per year
  • Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Surgical Solutions technical team to integrate and deliver on both product and process designs that meet the fitness-for-use and business objectives
  • Ensure that customer and business needs are translated into product and process requirements for the entire scope of the project
  • Align product, process and equipment designs to leverage platform capabilities and balance risks while elevating design risks and helping to resolve trade-offs between fitness for use, manufacturability, and timeline
  • Ensure that manufacturing equipment designs and scope are effectively defined and managed to meet business objectives
  • Ensure product and process technical uncertainties are identified, prioritized, resourced, and resolved
  • Clarify and drive goals, targets, performance management and compensation processes for the teams you lead to maximize talents, skills, and abilities of Associates
  • Develop deep technical and historical knowledge of product design within the TI community, and stay current on the industry state of the art
  • Identify NPD project technical needs and resource teams to be equipped with the skills, knowledge, and training to successfully complete the project objectives
  • Implement processes for continuous improvement of integration methodologies, systems engineering, technologies, and standards to enhance product quality, reliability, and efficiency
  • Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and act immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering and a minimum of 6 years of direct R&D experience focused on product design
  • Demonstrated technical depth and expertise with implantable medical devices development, design verification testing, and device manufacturing
  • Demonstrated complex technical problem solving related to product design
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams with the ability to influence and drive cross-functional alignment
  • Proven track record of clear decision making and organizational alignment
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with a clear understanding of equitable practices
  • Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals, user requirements, systems engineering, and the ability to apply this knowledge to manufacturing, product design, and technology development
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret technical data including Design of Experiments
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects to completion, both independently and in team situations
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, influencing cross-functional alignment effectively
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex medical device projects from concept to commercialization

 

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed.  Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
