About the Role

We are offering an exciting internship starting on 01/03/2026 to support our GORE-TEX R&D Footwear Team in the field of product development and prototyping for 6 months in Feldkirchen-Westerham, greater Munich area. You will have the opportunity to help develop the very innovations that make our products even better and more attractive.

Responsibilities

• In close collaboration with colleagues from research and development, you will independently take on product-oriented subprojects and accompany them through various development phases – from concept to realization.
• Using modern technologies such as 3D printing or hands-on prototyping, you will find constructive solutions for technical challenges.
• You will carry out material and product analyses with modern measuring methods and imaging techniques and develop new test methods if required.
• You will be actively involved in field tests: from organizing with testers and laboratories, through error analysis of the products, to evaluating and clearly presenting the results.
• In the production environment, exciting subprojects offer the opportunity to specifically optimize processes and systems, thereby contributing to continuous improvements.
• You will evaluate technical data statistically, visualize results clearly, and derive well-founded recommendations for action.

Qualifications

• You are enrolled in a technical degree program, such as mechanical engineering, materials science, textile engineering, sports engineering, or a comparable subject.
• Ideally, you already have some experience with 3D CAD programs (e.g., SolidWorks™).
• You speak fluent English and, ideally, have good knowledge of German as well.
• Initial experience with statistical software (e.g., SAS JMP) as well as basic programming skills (e.g., VBA) are an advantage.
• You enjoy working in a team but are also able to handle tasks independently and reliably.
• You communicate clearly and openly and can present your ideas convincingly.
• A structured, detail-oriented, and analytical way of working characterizes you.
• You approach new questions with a spirit of research and curiosity.
• Initiative, commitment, and enjoyment of working in an international environment are natural for you.
• Ideally, you share our passion for outdoor activities such as running or hiking.
