About the Role
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Science and Engineering team, to build data pipelines and tools enabling actionable, data-driven insights within Gore Medical. In this role, you will develop pipelines to generate useful analytics data sets from multiple complex sources including SAP, manufacturing, quality and market data; model data sets using deep domain knowledge and methodological expertise; act as core project team members for analytics and data science projects; and provide production support and continuous improvement to our analytics capabilities.
This is a remote position, and you can work from home in most locations within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Build and support analytics data pipelines, data models, and analytics applications, using Databricks, SQL, Python, and other tools.
- Partner with analysts and other team members to understand stakeholder requirements and then plan and implement new data tools, visualizations, augmented data sets, and other solutions to meet those requirements
- Own one or more capabilities delivered by the team, to provide support and expertise, drive adoption, and maintain a high level of service
- Maintain quality and confidence in our data through process improvements, documentation and testing
- Innovate and promote best practices for analysis, data management, and insights generation and communications
- Work with vendors to produce and manage data and/or tools for Gore use
- Prepare Gore data for use by partners such as vendors or other teams
- Collaborate within the Data Science and Engineering Team to advance the sophistication of our tools, infrastructure and processes to take advantage of emerging technologies and methods of working with data
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years work in analytics such as data engineering, data analysis, data science, in business analysis, academic/scientific computing, or other analytical field
- Proficiency with SQL for data modeling and manipulation; expertise with Python or R development; and familiarity with PowerBI or Tableau dashboard development
- Demonstrated expertise developing and deploying data pipelines or integrations with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake or similar technologies, using git-based continuous integration and change management
- Expertise applying a broad range of analytical methodologies including statistical analyses, exploratory data analysis, or data visualizations, to solve data problems and design improved data sets for analytics
- Demonstrated ability to support users of large production systems
- Proven project execution and communication skills and ability to define projects, set expectations among stakeholders, organize work streams and deliver needed solutions
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders in complex projects, applying a deep understanding of business needs to cooperatively provide insights and data solutions
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s level education with experience performing analytics, statistical modeling, or data science
- Proven experience using Databricks and SQL to develop complex data sets from SAP S/4HANA resources
- Familiarity with medical industry-relevant data such as sales, marketing, manufacturing, clinical research or health care
This position offers a remote work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
