About the Role
We are looking for a Biosciences Facilities & Equipment Engineer to join the Biosciences Operations team in Flagstaff, Arizona who will provide technical ownership and coordination for equipment and facility-related systems that support Biosciences nonclinical testing operations. You will help ensure critical assets are properly specified, qualified, maintained, calibrated, documented, and retired in alignment with business needs, quality system requirements, and regulatory expectations.

You will work closely with Biosciences Operations, Quality Assurance, Facilities, Engineering, Procurement, vendors, and other partners while driving standardization, continuous improvement, and growth across the equipment lifecycle.
This role will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Responsibilities
- Lead equipment lifecycle management activities from specification, onboarding, qualification, maintenance, calibration, and service through retirement and disposal
- Ensure equipment records, service documentation, qualification materials, and lifecycle data are complete, accurate, and inspection-ready
- Coordinate vendor service activities, supplier documentation, and service contracts to support reliable equipment performance and compliant operations
- Resolve equipment issues and non-routine maintenance needs in a timely manner to minimize operational disruption
- Maintain equipment and facility-related processes in alignment with applicable quality system, regulatory, and business requirements
- Partner with Facilities, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Operations, and external vendors to support equipment, infrastructure, and laboratory needs
- Support facility-related projects and infrastructure changes that impact Biosciences laboratories, equipment performance, or regulatory compliance
- Drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability, asset availability, scheduling effectiveness, documentation practices, and lifecycle planning
- Develop and use metrics, forecasting tools, and asset management technologies to improve visibility, performance, and decision-making
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support business priorities, maintain required training, and contribute to a safe, compliant, and effective laboratory environment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Life Sciences, Facilities/Equipment Management, or a related technical field
- Demonstrated experience managing equipment, facilities systems, or asset lifecycle processes
- Experience (minimum 3 years) supporting equipment maintenance, calibration, qualification, commissioning, or service coordination activities
- Working knowledge of regulated quality system expectations, including GLP (21 CFR Part 58) and/or applicable medical device or laboratory quality standards
- Ability to maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready equipment records and objective evidence
- Experience using asset management, maintenance management, or quality system tools such as EAM, BMRAM, LIMS, or similar systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate timely resolution
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including ability to clearly document technical activities and support audit/inspection responses
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality Assurance, Facilities, Procurement, Engineering, vendors, and internal SMEs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate vendor activities, and support planned and unplanned equipment/service events.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing metrics, lifecycle forecasting tools, dashboards, or process improvements for equipment reliability and asset availability
- Experience in nonclinical laboratory, biosciences, medical device, or regulated research facility operations
- Experience supporting supplier qualification, service contract management, procurement activities, or vendor documentation
