About the Role
We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will work on a wide array of accounting commitments across the various entities in the US and be a high contributing member of the General Ledger team.
This position will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona or Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
Pay and Benefits:
- $90,000 - $116,000 per year

Responsibilities
- Be passionate about providing accounting support for a world-class manufacturer
- Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships
- Be comfortable, experienced, and motivated, working in hybrid environment, as part of a team
- Complete closing tasks for the general ledger, including preparation of account and balance sheet reconciliations and accruals; ensure account accuracy
- Perform quarterly General Ledger activities, such as reconciliations, exception reporting, balance sheet reviews, etc
- Review, maintain, and implement processes to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Support financial audits through preparation of reports and schedules
- Contribute to the success of the GL team through tasks & activities, in support of the Enterprise
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure alignment and to support the changing needs of internal customers
- Partner with functions throughout the Enterprise to improve the accuracy of the financial statements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with minimum 3 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with ERP systems, Cognos, TM1 or equivalent, Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of accounting concepts (GAAP and/or IFRS)
- Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
- Possess strong desire to learn and develop, curiosity, initiative and work ethic
- Enjoy interacting with others, with an ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong written, oral, and listening communication skills
- High level of energy, versatile, and willing to be engaged in multiple tasks
- Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts to non-financial associates
- Ability to travel up to 15%
Desired Qualifications
- MBA in accounting or business-related discipline, CPA or CMA certifications
- Experience in accounting for a manufacturing environment
- Public Accounting experience
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
