About the Role

We are looking for an Information Specialist / Librarian to join our Gore Medical Products - Office of Medical Affairs team. The Information Specialist is a subject-matter expert on effective literature information retrieval and sharing methods. In this role, you will gather, synthesize and provide access to information that enhances informed business decisions. You will partner with business functions to identify information resource needs to handle specific requests.

 

This position offers flexible work arrangement options: on-site at our facility in Flagstaff or Phoenix, Arizona; Elkton, Maryland; or Santa Clara, California; hybrid; or fully remote in most locations within the United States.  

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive literature searches for Gore’s commercially available medical products, including on-label and off-label indications, competitor products, and emerging clinical evidence, to support business functions such as Sales, Marketing, Product Support, and Medical Affairs
  • Maintain and update bibliographies and literature databases, ensuring accurate organization by product, subject matter, and regulatory status (e.g., on-label/off-label), and facilitate approved reference lists for distribution and compliance
  • Provide timely article alerts and literature updates to internal stakeholders, ensuring Associates are informed of new publications, pivotal studies, regulatory changes, and competitor activity relevant to Gore’s commercial portfolio
  • Support an internal approval process for new marketing materials and product literature, including formatting references, identifying appropriate citations, and collaborating with marketers to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Partner with global teams to address information needs for US and international markets, including handling requests for Open Access publications, regional bibliographies, and non-English literature as needed
  • Train and advise associates on best practices for literature searching, use of internal and external databases, and effective information retrieval strategies to enhance business decision-making
  • Collaborate with IT, vendors, and cross-functional teams to optimize literature alert automation, database management, and integration of new tools and resources

 

Required Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience managing medical information services and conducting medical literature searches or equivalent experience with transferable skills
  • At least 1 year of experience using search tools such as Embase, Scopus, Science Direct, and ProQuest or equivalent experience with transferable skills
  • Experience working with vendors, contracting and procurement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master of Library Science (MLS) or Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) preferred 
  • Familiarity with cardiovascular disease states and endovascular devices

 

This position offers a remote work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
