About the Role

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our team.  In this role, you will work in a collaborative work environment where your unique contributions will help manufacture Components for our internal Gore Medical product line customers.  This process engineer role will work in the Fabricated Components Team. 

 

This role will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Produce, process, design and support for the manufacturing of new and existing products
  • Understand critical process parameters to ensure the process reliably delivers a fit for use product that meets all specifications and customer requirements
  • Support and implement new equipment design, development and validation
  • Apply formal problem-solving techniques to determine root cause, troubleshoot non-confirming products, raw materials and components and develop, implement corrective and preventative action (CAPA) plans
  • Identify and address opportunities to continuously improve our product and processes; assess for regulatory, quality, ergonomic, safety, environmental and cost impact improvements
  • Drive a wide range of process projects throughout the development lifecycle: development, scale -up, validation and implementation
  • Plan and execute technical work using statistical techniques including Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 1 years of hands-on engineering work experience 
  • Demonstration of technical curiosity and initiative that leads to deeper understanding.
  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals and statistical tools to develop, optimize and troubleshoot activities
  • Ability to prioritize, plan and drive multiple projects concurrently from development to completion against agreed upon timelines/deliverables
  • Ability to document, communicate and present technical bodies of work
  • Ability to inclusively collaborate with others to solve problems
  • Ability to travel up to 5%

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience applying structured problem-solving approach (such as 8D, 8 step, DMAIC or PDCA) that drives root cause analysis using 5-Why, Why Trees and Fishbone analysis
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team, including influencing across functions, and to successfully interact and build relationships with a variety of Manufacturing Associates
  • Ability to identify critical issues and failure modes, creating a framework of action to address these issues and assess root cause including effective risk-based decision making
