About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Quality Engineer (QE) to join our New Product Development (NPD) team. In this role, you will apply your technical capabilities and problem-solving skills to drive test method development and requirements definition to meet the business needs of New Product Development focused on requirements elicitation and decomposition. The ideal candidate will have experience working cross-functionally to solicit and define requirements as well as mentoring others. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable working through ambiguity within a cross functional team and contribute in various areas of design control activities.
This position will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, or Phoenix Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities

- Plan and execute to quality engineering work in alignment with technical leadership in collaboration with team/extended teams and as prescribed by quality procedures and quality engineering functional excellence standards
- Document and communicate technical plans, experimental results, and conclusions of work to satisfy quality system and regulatory requirements and enable future use of knowledge
- Develop deep product and process knowledge to drive the solicitation and creation of stakeholder, system, sub-system, and component requirements
- Develop novel test methods and execute those tests on designs to characterize and document product performance and functionality
- Lead efficient investigations in problem solving by utilizing statistical principles and root cause analysis to reveal optimized designs/ solutions
- Challenge assumptions of self and others to drive development of in-depth product knowledge
- Mentor others to grow their Quality Engineering skillset
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Technical Field with solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Engineer, preferably as a Quality Engineer in a regulated industry
- Demonstrated experience driving requirements elicitation & specification – writing clear, measurable, testable system requirements that resolve stakeholder conflicts
- Demonstrated experience with bidirectional traceability; maintaining links from user needs, system, subsystem, to testing with full audit history
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team, including influencing across functions, creating a positive working environment, and creating psychological safety on the team
- Ability to make risk-based decisions
- Ability to problem solve and collect appropriate data to make critical project decisions to meet business objectives
- Demonstrated ability to proactively manage multiple priorities, establish realistic deadlines, take initiative, and drive projects to completion
- Ability to travel up to 10%, if applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years experience in practical application of engineering knowledge within a regulated or Medical industry
- Experience with requirements management throughout the NPD lifecycle
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
