About the Role
We are looking for Senior Process Engineers to join our engineering team supporting New Product Development (NPD) and Process Capabilites. In this role, you will work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment focused on developing, optimizing, and implementing advanced process technologies. In this experienced technical role, you will apply engineering foundations, strategic thinking, and cross-functional influence to support process and product development to meet business requirements and ensure robust, scalable solutions.
This posting includes opportunities to support the following teams: Aortic NPD, Peripheral NPD, Cardiac NPD, Crush/Load Capabilities and Wrap/Laser Capabilities.
These roles will be located in our Phoenix or Flagstaff, Arizona facilities with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support the transition of new products, processes, equipment, and manufacturing methods into production. Provide specialized technical support for existing manufacturing processes, equipment, or technologies within the engineer’s area of expertise when issues cannot be resolved through established production support channels. Support for critical or time-sensitive manufacturing issues may occasionally require flexibility outside standard working hours
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet performance targets by designing for safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and capability. Utilize Lean manufacturing principles, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and problem solving methodologies to eliminate waste and variation
- Specify, design, and/or implement manufacturing fixtures, equipment, and tools required to develop new processes and support existing processes
- Understand critical process parameters of equipment and process to ensure the process reliably delivers a fit for use product that meets all specifications and customer requirements
- Effectively collaborate and influence cross-functionally to drive solutions and sustain performance
- Lead a range of projects from concept through implementation. Plan, create, and manage a work breakdown structure and timeline while communicating status to stakeholders
- Apply formal problem-solving techniques to determine root cause of equipment, process, and product related issues and non-conformances. Identify and implement effective and timely countermeasures.
- Conduct equipment and process validations, qualifications, and verifications in support of production and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or science with a minimum of 5 years of experience supporting a manufacturing environment
- Experience applying engineering fundamentals to develop, optimize, troubleshoot, and control products, processes, or technologies. Independently able to design experiments, analyze data, understand system interactions, and use structured approaches such as experimentation, validation, process control, or root cause analysis to drive decisions and improvements
- Demonstrated experience leading projects with cross-functional impact, requiring coordination across multiple disciplines; projects typically involve moderate ambiguity, significant stakeholder engagement, and measurable business impact
- Demonstrated ability to leverage critical thinking to identify critical issues and failure modes utilizing structured problem solving approaches to define the problem and identify root cause
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple projects concurrently from concept to completion utilizing industry standard project management tools to deliver results against agreed upon timelines and deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to document, communicate, and present technical bodies of work
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence local cross-functional teams or areas through coaching, peer review, and input into technical strategy development
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or similar)
- Experience supporting New Product Development in a regulated environment utilizing design control framework
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience applying Lean methodologies
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
