About the Role

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join the Gore Medical team to provide leadership for our commercial engineering associates. This person will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to meet the business objectives of the team.

 

This role will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona. ​​

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Manufacturing Leadership, Quality Assurance, MTL, and POL to understand and support the business priorities
  • Partner with Technical Leadership to provide P&D support for product line engineers and technicians
  • Provide subject matter expertise in both internal and external audits
  • Provide (PLL) review and approval
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and other functional groups to provide direction regarding appropriate testing and inspections, manufacturability, product/process changes, equipment and process validations, design control, submissions, risk management, and non-conformance investigations
  • Mentor and provide leadership by example for engineering team
  • Support and lead project scoping, resourcing, and monitoring with engineering team and support project prioritization
  • Hold yourself and others accountable to their commitments, meeting expectations, and for practicing the culture
  • Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and act immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior  

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering, or equivalent STEM degree
  • Minimum of 5 years in engineering, executing in Lean manufacturing practices (Kaizens, A3 problem solving, etc.) and technical application
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with clear understanding of equitable practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead oneself and lead and/or coordinate a team of associates and the ability to overcome conflict and achieve business results
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, prioritize, plan, and execute difficult technical projects from development to completion by utilizing project best practices and critical thinking to navigate technical and project uncertainties
  • Demonstrated ability to document, communicate, and present technical bodies of work
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with cross-functional teams and influence others with strong verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to identify critical issues and failure modes, creating a framework of action to address these issues and assess root cause and improve product performance
  • Ability to travel up to 5%

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous people leadership experience
  • Minimum 7 years experience as an engineer in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience and application of lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies and approaches
