About the Role

We are looking for a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join our Fabrics Skilled Trades team and work the 2nd Shift. This person will provide manufacturing support for a world-class manufacturer and build strong relationships by collaborating with cross-functional teams. Standard hours are 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday. 

 

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland. 

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $31 - $42 per hour
  • This role is eligible for an additional $2/hr shift differential pay for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain a positive and safe working environment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and installation of production manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, evaluating effectiveness (content and frequency) and making necessary changes following our quality system guidelines.
  • Work with engineers, consultants and contractors on systems design and equipment reliability improvements.
  • Guide and evaluate contractor services as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement activities and our culture of quality.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management system.
  • Commit to continuous personal development aligned with current commitments and business goals.
  • Flexible to work within multiple regional plants to meet business needs.
  • Available for on call coverage as needed.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial production facility or military maintenance, coupled with additional formal training.
  • Mechanical skills (power transmission, fabrication and repair), basic electrical troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with shop equipment (Lathes, Mills, Drill press, etc.). 
  • Solid understanding of pneumatics/hydraulics systems.
  • Ability to work from drawings and follow written procedures.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA, NEC, NFPA codes.
  • Desktop computer skills coupled with basic understanding of networking and operating systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work well in a team as well as independently, with a desire to contribute across multiple trades.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to travel up to 5%

Desired Qualifications

  • Competent welding and fabrication skills (mig, tig. stick)
  • Web handling experience
  • PLC Exposure

 

This role requires pre-hire medical clearance by Gore which may include testing to assess visual acuity and/or the ability to wear specific safety equipment as required during the performance of the role.
