About the Role

We are looking for a New Product Development (NPD) Project Manager to join our Research and Development (R&D) team. In this role, the Associate will lead mid-sized cross‑functional product development projects with relatively well‑understood scope, delivering results across the full development lifecycle in alignment with business needs, multidisciplinary requirements, project timelines, and financial commitments.

 

This position will be located at one of our facilities in Flagstaff or Phoenix, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Drive project initiation by aligning scope, objectives, assumptions, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs with key stakeholders
  • Partner with technical, quality, regulatory, operations, clinical, and supply chain functions as well as externally with suppliers / contract partners to align development strategy, execution plans, and deliverables
  • Responsible for achieving NPD goals across all stages of product development, from concept to launch, by guiding cross-functional teams through alignment, influence, and disciplined execution within a matrixed organization
  • Build and maintain integrated project plans and schedules, including milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities
  • Track progress and manage risks, issues, and schedule impacts through timely communication, mitigation planning, structured problem solving and decision support
  • Facilitate effective team forums (meetings, action tracking, tradeoff discussions) and escalate key decisions as needed
  • Ensure execution aligns with applicable quality systems, design control requirements, and regulated development processes
  • Support forecasting, resource and capacity planning, budget tracking, and prioritization across the project lifecycle
  • Communicate clear status, milestone progress, and key risks through governance reviews and stakeholder updates
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable team environment through transparency, follow-through, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or Bachelor's degree with professional experience in technical functions
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading new product development or technical projects within a regulated industry or within a structured NPD process
  • Demonstrated experience managing project activities across multiple functions, stakeholders, or technical discipline and facilitating organizational alignment through sound influencing skills without direct authority
  • Working knowledge of project management fundamentals including project planning, scheduling, risk management, and resource coordination
  • Experience developing and maintaining project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar project management tools
  • Experience facilitating project meetings, tracking deliverables, and supporting project execution activities
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated experience with regulated product development processes, stage-gate methodologies, or design control environments
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build alignment across functions and business stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 20% 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience leading NPD projects through the full lifecycle and demonstrated expertise in Design Control or similar regulated environment
  • Experience with different project management methodologies e.g. Waterfall, Agile, and Critical Chain Project Management
  • PMP or similar project/program management credential and/ or master’s degree in business or management

 

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
