About the Role
We are looking for a New Product Development (NPD) Project Manager to join our Surgical Solutions Research and Development (R&D) team. In this role, the Associate will be accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on time, and within budget and scope, by leveraging best practice project management methodologies. This Associate will lead a cross-functional Project Team which may include Concept Development, Product Development, or a Technology Transfer, on Surgical Solutions prioritized R&D projects.
This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
Pay and Benefits:
- $144,000 - $169,000 salary per year
- Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities
- Lead the cross-functional NPD project team in detailed planning and execution of scope for the entire project, including concept development, product development, successful product launch, and commercialization support
- Partner with the marketing function to ensure the project meets the business objectives and fitness for use requirements
- Partner with technical and operations leaders to ensure the product and process designs meet business objectives
- Facilitate the definition of the project requirements, assumptions, and financial and resource needs, and facilitate trade-off decisions and project change requests as needed
- Integrate and maintain a project master schedule and successfully manage the critical path through prioritization and trade-off decisions to achieve project milestones
- Support the core team in project risk management, uncertainty planning, and managing issues effectively within the timeline
- Lead the core team, including core team subject matter experts to proactively identify, assess and plan appropriate responses to project risks
- Develop communication and stakeholder strategies and represent project status and performance at each stage gate and business reviews
- Facilitate resolution of interpersonal and team performance issues within the team and escalate issues to business leaders, functional leaders, and decision makers, as appropriate
- Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and act immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or Bachelor's degree with professional experience in technical functions
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in New Product Development, or similar endeavors within a regulated industry
- Experience seeing projects through multiple parts of the life cycle
- Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with clear understanding of equitable practices
- Demonstrated proficiency with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices including with scheduling and critical path management, using tools such as MS Project
- Strong business acumen, including demonstrated track record of clear decision making and ability to effectively influence cross functionally and to facilitate organizational alignment
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interface with a variety of audiences (leaders, peers, and team members)
- Ability to travel up to 15% within the US, mainly our Arizona facilities
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience managing projects of increasing complexing
- Project Management Professional Credential
- Experience leading NPD projects through the full lifecycle and demonstrated expertise in the medical device industry
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
