Would you like to get hands-on work experience and solve real-life problems related to your field of study? We are looking for students to support a variety of Digital IT related projects at our Flagstaff, AZ; Phoenix, AZ; and Elkton, MD facilities this summer.
About the Role: As a Gore intern, working within a multi-functional Digital Information Technology team environment, you will be involved with projects that contribute to supporting a diverse information systems environment. We are looking for students that have excellent interpersonal communication skills, who are self-motivated, and have demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solving. You will be encouraged to network and build relationships across functions and plants as well as with other interns. We will provide you with organized social and networking opportunities throughout the summer to help you build connections with other interns and Gore associates.
Pay and Benefits:
- $23 - $27 per hour
- Factors considered in extending an offer within this pay range include (but not limited to) education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
Typical Project Opportunities:
Product & Innovation
- Analyze product development workflows to identify areas where AI can accelerate design iterations, simulate performance, or predict outcomes.
- Assist in cleaning and structuring historical product data for use in machine learning models.
- Build simple predictive models or recommendation systems using Python and business analytics skills.
Integrated Supply Chain
- Analyze production data for bottlenecks, quality issues, or predictive maintenance opportunities.
- Apply machine learning techniques to improve demand forecasting and inventory management.
- Support data governance efforts to ensure ethical and compliant AI use.
Commercial Regions
- Analyze customer data and identify segments for targeted marketing campaigns.
- Build models to predict sales trends and support strategic planning.
- Develop basic AI-driven tools to enhance customer service or internal sales support.
HR Analytics
- Analyze employee engagement, turnover trends, or optimize recruitment strategies.
- Apply AI to detect anomalies in financial transactions or automate reporting.
- Support AI use cases in document review or regulatory compliance using ethical frameworks.
IT Foundation & Enterprise Architecture
- Assist IT teams in integrating AI tools into existing systems, leveraging their understanding of business systems.
- Help define data pipelines and architecture needed to support scalable AI solutions.
You will be required to be on-site every week of the internship. Gore offers a housing allowance to assist if you need to relocate.
Job Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S./MBA program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business/Management Information Systems, AI, or Data Science/Analytics
- Successful completion of at least the sophomore year of college prior to the start of the internship and continued pursuit of your degree in the fall
- Ability to commit to a (minimum) 10-week summer internship
- Enthusiasm and energy for enabling digital capabilities in a manufacturing and supply chain
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Drive and initiative; a self-starter
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply knowledge related to area of study
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects or initiatives through to completion
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a team
