About the Role
We are looking for a Senior-Level Payroll Tax Specialist with deep expertise in all aspects of Payroll Tax Administration & Payroll Processing - someone ready to jump in and contribute from day one! This role will serve as a subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance across all aspects of payroll taxation, including Setup, Monitoring & Reconciling complex Multi-State Taxation, Regulatory Reporting, and Payroll Tax Filing & Disbursements. This role will also serve by Processing Payroll on a rotating schedule with the Americas Payroll Team.
This position will be located at our facility in Newark, Delaware with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Payroll Analysts to accurately process payroll for approximately 8000+ U.S. exempt and nonexempt associates on a semi-monthly basis & process payroll data outsourced to ADP payroll processing for Canada, Mexico, and Brazil for small population
- Serve as the go-to expert for federal, state, and local payroll compliance by staying up to date in payroll tax laws (FLSA, tax filings, wage/hour laws, etc) including Multi-State Taxation
- Manage tax-related aspects of payroll processing, including tax treatment of various earnings and deductions, and year-end adjustments (e.g., W-2 and W-2c corrections)
- Serve as a payroll tax advisor to internal stakeholders, supporting audits, projects, and process improvements
- Stay up to date on regulatory changes and translate them into actionable payroll processes
- Partner with Finance and External Vendors on Payroll Audits & GL Reconciliations; research and resolve discrepancies in payroll tax reporting
- Manage (Monitor/Reconcile) regulatory periodic payroll tax filings 3rd party ADP Smart Compliance
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed including a payroll transition from Peoplesoft Payroll for NA to SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum 5 years of Payroll Tax Analyst experience OR a minimum 10 Years of Payroll Tax Analyst experience
- Experience mentoring others on Tax Related Issues
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions
- Expert knowledge of all aspects of Payroll Tax & Regulatory Reporting & Payroll Compliance
- Advanced knowledge of payroll concepts, practices, and procedures, accuracy and strong analytical skills are critical
- Knowledge of Payroll Systems (e.g., PeopleSoft Payroll for NA, ADP, UKG)
- Ability to work both independently and collaborative within the Payroll Team and throughout the organization. with all levels of employees
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, remaining professional, responsive and cooperative
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills are a must
Desired Qualifications
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and/or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred but not required
- Experience with a multi-company environment and/or setting up new FEIN companies for payroll a plus
- Experience managing outsourced payroll for Canada, Mexico, Brazil or other global regions
