About the Role

We are looking for a Nonclinical Research Technician for  Imaging CT & Catheterization to join our Biosciences team. This role focuses on operating medical imaging equipment and analyzing images for nonclinical studies, including in vivo, in vitro, and ex vivo experiments. The technician will also provide hands on activities to support tissue preparation and assist with surgical procedures and animal recovery as part of our this role.

 

This role will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, organize, archive, and disseminate imaging data
  • Perform the operation and routine maintenance of medical imaging equipment, with a focus on ionizing radiation imaging units
  • Interface with imaging equipment company representatives in support of equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and system upgrades
  • Support the selection, procurement, and installation of new imaging equipment
  • Train and educate internal and external partners
  • Perform animal surgical preparation and recovery activities
  • Collect, create, and maintain well-documented records
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Understand and comply with all applicable regulations related to animal research and good laboratory practices (GLP)
  • Contribute to development of nonclinical study protocols and the creation and modification of standard operating procedures (SOP)
 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with active certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of CT and angiographic imaging systems
  • Strong understanding of and strict adherence to radiation safety protocols and guidelines
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a small team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Abilitiy to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to travel up to 5%

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in a nonclinical research laboratory
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of IVUS equipment
