We are looking for a Japan local Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) as part of our Japan Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) team. In this role you will actively work with Enterprise, Operation company, and regional Associates and teams. The work will be to build infrastructure to systematically manage risk and support our collective ability to successfully invent, make and sell products while ensuring ongoing EH&S compliance.

This role will be located in the plant of Okayama/Bizen in Japan.

• Provide services and expertise within areas of EH&S.
• Partner with the EH&S Specialists and technical, manufacturing associates to identify, assess, manage and control health and safety hazards/risks.
• Develop, maintain, and continually improve EH&S standards and processes in alignment with the Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Management System program.
• Monitor and assess potential impact of emerging occupational health and safety trends.
• Develop and implement an EH&S risk management strategy and plan, including organization of an aligned subject matter expertise group that establishes best practices and identifies gaps and risks.
• Provide support for the development and implementation of Divisional/regional processes in alignment with EH&S standards, as needed.
• Plan, develop, and deliver training/education on EH&S topics by partnering with Divisional EH&S Leaders to develop EH&S SME in the regions/countries
• Align with EH&S project management tools and governance to influence prioritization of EH&S work
• Proactively monitor and assess EH&S matter to align with industry best practices and Gore internal teams and incorporate changes on an ongoing basis.
• Work to continually define the EH&S Services & Expertise Portfolio.

必要資格

• Formal education degree (e.g. BS) in EH&S or related field (e.g.: Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Public Health)
• Professional Certification from an accreditation body in an area of EH&S expertise (労働安全コンサルタント、労働衛生コンサルタント、衛生管理者、公害防止管理者、作業環境測定士、危険物取扱者、etc) or international functional equivalent through a recognized international organization
• Minimum 8 years professional experience
• Advanced knowledge in the areas of Occupational health & safety, Industrial hygiene, acquired through education and training as well as through practical experience
• Ability to understand, communicate and influence technical EH&S requirements and to lead and execute strategies within a diverse team
• Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and tension for positive outcomes, and proven ability to build collaborative relationships
• Ability to think critically to challenge status quo and come up with innovative solutions
• Ability to coach and develop others with demonstrated strong leadership abilities.
• Experience working with project and change management practices and tools, including organizational priority-setting skills, attention to detail, follow-through, effective written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese.
