About the Role

We are seeking a Portfolio & Investment Strategy Leader responsible for shaping and advancing Gore Medical’s inorganic growth strategy within the endovascular domain. This role serves as the strategy & asset Identification partner to the Business Group, defining where and how Gore should invest to drive long-term value creation. Operating at the intersection of portfolio strategy and external innovation, this lead develops growth theses, identifies and prioritizes targets, cultivates relationships, and advances high-quality opportunities into the deal pipeline.   Additionally, this role will support due diligence efforts and share learnings with integration teams. The role balances stewardship of the current growth roadmap (≈75%) with proactive exploration of adjacent and emerging verticals (≈25%). This position focuses on upstream strategy, opportunity framing, and executive decision support, partnering closely with Deal Execution & Integration teams to transition qualified opportunities into structured transaction processes. 

 

This is a remote position, and you can work from home in most locations within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Own inorganic growth strategy aligned to Business Group and enterprise priorities
  • Translate market, competitive, and innovation trends into investment roadmaps
  • Integrate build, buy, and partner pathways to optimize portfolio value
  • Lead white space analysis to identify unmet needs and new market opportunities
  • Define target landscapes; drive structured prioritization and down-selection
  • Develop investment theses and business cases (fit, value, risk)
  • Partner cross-functionally on financial models and valuation guardrails
  • Build external relationships with targets and innovation partners
  • Lead cross-functional teams to advance opportunities into deal pipeline
  • Deliver data-backed recommendations on capital allocation and prioritization
  • Drive continuous improvement of strategy tools, processes, and best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 7 years in product/portfolio or technical management (medical devices)
  • Experience building investment thesis, financial models, and business cases
  • Strong knowledge of markets, regulatory pathways, and commercialization
  • Influences senior leaders; communicates complex trade-offs clearly
  • Simplifies risks and assumptions with integrity and clarity
  • Structured thinker; thrives in ambiguity and drives priorities
  • Manages stakeholders and advances work with urgency
  • Continuous improvement mindset; drives operational excellence
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate strategy, M&A, or ventures
  • Experience supporting M&A transactions through diligence and governance preferred (direct execution ownership not required) 

 

This position offers a remote work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed.  Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
