About the Role
We are looking for a Product Specialist for PharmBIO’s Life Science Venting business, with a focus on non-implantable medical device applications to join our team. PharmBIO is focused on growth, and for this role, we are seeking a Product Specialist with the skills and interest in developing new business opportunities in our Life Science Venting (LSV) business while supporting valuable products already on the market. This Product Specialist will be part of a global team ultimately responsible for the full range of LSV products ($10-30MM each annual revenue) produced in the clean rooms at our Elk Mills 2 facility, in Elkton, Maryland. The PS will have specific accountability for certain LSV product lines. Life Science Venting currently includes applications in diagnostics, infusion, personal care, hemotology, ostomy, and urology, serving large international regulated medical device end-users; and supplied as sub-components directly and through partners. LSV revenue is a significant portion of PharmBIO’s portfolio, and therefore is critical to the long-term success of PharmBIO.
This position is based at our facility in Elkton, Maryland and is eligible for a hybrid work agreement of up to 1 day a week working from home.
Pay and Benefits:
- $140,000 - $165,000 per year
- Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities
- Own profitability for assigned LSV product lines, balancing short-term commercial goals with long-term product development
- Guide PharmBIO investment decisions using data; identify high-value LSV opportunities aligned with Gore capabilities
- Develop and deliver short- and long-term strategies to drive top- and bottom-line growth, owning related action plans in Strategy Deployment
- Define product roadmaps, align cross-functional teams, clarify customer needs and value, and ensure internal and external coordination
- Innovate business models across LSV lines to strengthen competitiveness and financial results through improved channels, pricing, and partnerships
- Lead pricing strategy and value positioning and pricing for LSV lines to capture profit, support sales execution, and grow market share
- Maintain customer and business requirements in DHFs, identify fitness-for-use gaps, and drive timely risk mitigation with technical and supply teams

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or Business
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Product Specialist or minimum 7 years experience in a combination of technical and market-facing roles
- Experience working, influencing decision making, and mentoring in a cross-functional team
- Strategic mindset with ability to bring new ideas into the LSV Strategic Planning process and potential external partnerships; end to end thinking integrating the external customer/market perspective with internal perspective to find the best solution
- Demonstrated capability to grow and contribute through all 5 Product Specialist waterline responsibilities: product concepts, fitness for use, maximizing product profitability including value pricing, product strategy, and influencing and integration for product success
- Excitement and demonstrated ability to engage frequently directly with customers and with potential partners to identify new high-value market opportunities with strong strategic fit both in the short term (to deliver current year revenue) and long term
- Financial acumen to determine viability of investments into potential go-to-market changes or marketing campaigns, distribution changes, and new product concepts
- Excitement about continuous improvement including Gore Business System (Lean continuous improvement) tools and Gore foundational tools such as product concepts, Real-Win-Worth (RWW), and project practices; ability and interest to initiate and lead Problem Solving and kaizens in the future to address PharmBIO and LSV’s biggest business challenges
- Proven success driving multiple, complex priorities at the same time, and prioritizing what is most important for the product lines (working with PharmBIO/Gore stakeholders)
- Ability to travel up to 30% primarily for customer interactions, industry events, international growth, and potentially kaizen events
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with revenue responsibility
- Strong experience in highly regulated environments such as ISO13485 quality system requirements and experience supporting contracts and agreements
- Knowledge and relationships (or desire to build relationships) with other industry players, startups, competitors, key Opinion Leaders in PharmBIO space
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
