About the Role

We are looking for a General Ledger Payroll Accountant (f/m/d) to join our Financial Shared Services Center in Putzbrunn near Munich. In this role, you will be part of our international Accounting Team, responsible for payroll accounting for our German legal entities, and you will also support projects for other European entities by contributing your payroll expertise. 

This position will be located at our facility in Putzbrunn, near Munich, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities

    • Work on Payroll Accounting & General Ledger activities such as post monthly payroll files from the HR/payroll system and external payroll providers
    • Perform monthly account reconciliations (e.g., salary expenses, payroll liabilities, social security and tax accounts)
    • Calculate and book accruals (e.g., Pensions, vacation accruals, variable compensation)
    • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities in line with HGB/US GAAP
    • Analyze payroll-related variances and provide explanations to Finance and Management
    • Work closely with HR, Total Rewards and external consultants regarding payroll-relevant processes
    • Monitor and ensure audit-compliant processes for accounting, tax, and internal requirements
    • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanation
    •  Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll accounting processes 

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance and/or professional accountancy qualification
  • 5 years of experience in Payroll Accounting, Finance, or General Ledger Accounting
  • Technical accounting knowledge: HGB and Payroll required, and US GAAP is a plus
  • Keen to take initiatives and a team player with high service-orientation
  • Positive mindset and ability to work effectively in a collaborative and international team environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, advanced Excel and experience working with ERP systems such as SAP (S4 Hana), PowerBI, TM1
  • English skills (spoken and written)
