Quality Control Lab Technician

We are looking for a Quality Control Testing associate to join our Gore Fabrics Quality Testing Lab team. The primary focus of this commitment is to support the testing of various textiles in the Quality Control Testing Lab. As a member of this team, you will support, influence, and participate in continuous improvement and team development initiatives, as well as work closely with a diverse team to drive and accomplish team objectives.

 

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $25 - $33 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Performing lab functions accurately and efficiently, including but not limited to sample preparation, hands-on testing and assisting in test development.
  • Cross-train across multiple areas/instrumentation of the testing laboratory.
  • Writing and implementing procedures.
  • Operating and maintaining analytical equipment.
  • Keeping accurate records (including ISO documentation).
  • Analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Communicating results, issues, and trends.
  • Active participation in making product quality decisions are expected.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental practices, including chemical waste management

 

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree or at least 1 year of laboratory experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to make detailed and accurate observations
  • Strong organizational skills with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Skilled in writing and following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) and proactive issue resolution
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and standards (ISO, AATCC, ASTM, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with textiles.
  • Knowledge of basic statistics and experience with statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with LIMS, or other data management system.

 

This position requires access to export-controlled areas and information. Candidates must be "U.S. persons" as that term is defined in 8 USC §1324b(a)(3).
