About the Role

We are looking for an SAP Applications Developer to join our GMDIT team in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will design, develop, customize, and maintain SAP applications and modules to support business processes and drive operational efficiency. You will work closely with business users and technical teams to translate requirements into robust SAP solutions, optimize system performance, and ensure high-quality deliverables. Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize, and maintain SAP applications and modules (e.g., ABAP, Fiori/UI5, S/4HANA, SAP BTP) to meet business requirements.
  • Analyze business processes and translate them into technical specifications for SAP solutions.
  • Collaborate with functional analysts, business users, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Conduct unit, integration, and performance testing to ensure stability and quality of SAP applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within SAP applications, providing ongoing support to end-users.
  • Optimize system performance and implement enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Document development processes and maintain accurate records of changes.
  • Stay current with SAP technologies and best practices, contributing new ideas to the team.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
  • Support integration activities as needed, including API development and data mapping.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of SAP application development (ABAP, Fiori/UI5, CDS, SAP BTP), with 5-7+ years of SAP Experience.
  • Strong understanding of SAP architecture, modules, and business processes.
  • Bring a strong technical foundation; be able to engage the team on architecture, design, and deep dive on sophisticated solutions, platforms, and interface design, while also educating more technical staff on the underlying business principles.
  • Experience customizing and enhancing SAP applications to support business needs.
  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to SAP (ABAP, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in SAP applications.
  • Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with SAP BTP (ABAP Cloud, CAP, SAP Build) and integration tools (CI, APIs) is a plus.
  • Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and explain complex technical concepts.
  • Travel ~10%.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Manufacturing, Medical Devices, Life Sciences industry is a strong positive.
  • Experience working in an international multi-cultural environment considered a plus.
  • Experience with SAP BTP capabilities such as SAP Build, Process Automation, AI Agents, etc.
