About the Role

We are looking for an SAP Configuration Specialist - GTS to join our GMDIT team in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the configuration settings within an SAP system to align with specific business needs, by translating business requirements into technical configurations within relevant SAP modules, ensuring optimal system functionality and user experience across various business processes; often collaborating closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and troubleshoot issues within the SAP system. The functional area of focus for this particular SAP Configuration Specialist role will be for Global Trade Services (GTS) processes. Responsibilities

•    Gathering requirements: Collaborating with business users to understand their Global Trade Services (GTS) needs and translate them into functional specifications for SAP configuration.
•    Module configuration: Configuring SAP modules related to GTS processes based on business requirements.  
•    System customization: Making necessary adjustments to standard SAP functionality through configuration options to fit unique business processes, including designing functional specifications for reports, interfaces, enhancements, workflow and forms.
•    Data migration: Mapping and transferring data from legacy systems to the new SAP system.
•    Testing and quality assurance: Performing unit, integration, and user acceptance testing to ensure the configuration meets business needs and quality standards.
•    Documentation: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of SAP configurations, including system settings, process flows, and user guides.
•    Troubleshooting and support: Identifying and resolving issues related to SAP configurations, providing end-user support.
•    System upgrades and enhancements: Adapting configurations to new SAP releases and updates.
•    Training and knowledge transfer: Providing training to end users on new SAP functionalities and configurations.
•    Remain current with all relevant technologies and best practices, contributing new ideas to the team where needed.

 

Required Qualifications

•    7-10+ years of SAP experience, with strong understanding of SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) business processes and functionalities across relevant modules.
•    Bring a strong technical foundation; be able to engage the team on architecture, design, and deep dive on sophisticated solutions, platforms, and interface design, while also educating more technical staff on the underlying business principles.
•    Expertise in SAP configuration tools and techniques.
•    Experience with SAP implementation projects, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and deployment.
•    Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with business users and technical teams alike, with ability to quickly identify and troubleshoot configuration issues where needed.
•    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, experience with creating presentations for complex SAP design topics.
•    Knowledge of the SAP environment (S/4HANA preferred) and its various modules, data dictionary and database management principles, including familiarity with industry best practices for SAP configuration.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities (with both technical and non-technical audiences), including demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively across diverse stakeholders.
•    Experience with Global Trade Regulations considered a plus.
•    Travel ~10%.

 

Desired Qualifications

•    Experience with Manufacturing, Medical Devices, Life Sciences industry is a strong positive.
•    Experience working in an international multi-cultural environment considered a plus.
•    Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
