About the Role

We are looking for an SAP Data Management Leader to join our SAP project team as part of Enterprise Transformation. This Associate will lead the execution of all data deliverables required to meet transformation journey timelines for the implementation of SAP (including SAP MDG, S4, Ariba) across the Enterprise. The SAP Data Leader will develop and execute a program data plan in alignment with the Business, and Enterprise Data & Analytics Strategies that spans business processes and divisions, and which ensures the quality and trustworthiness of the data. Led by Enterprise SAP Strategy Leader, and part of the team driving and guiding the data work supporting the transformation journey and beyond, the associate will partner with data stakeholders within transformation and across Operating Companies, Functions, and Enterprise Data & Analytics to ensure strategic decision making for the management of data for the Enterprise. 

 

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

 

Pay and Benefits:

 

  • $187,000 - $215,000 per year
  • Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead data resources in the execution of all data deliverables required to meet transformation journey timelines, including data designs to support business process and analytics requirements, defining and reporting program data metrics, managing the storage of data artifacts, and partnering with change management to ensure stakeholders are navigated through impacts
  • Lead the strategy and execution of designing, testing, training, and implementing SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) for material, customer, supplier, profit center, cost center and GL account master data
  • Work as part of the SAP Program leadership organization to manage data to support milestones, risks, analytics and business process requirements, investments, resourcing, communications, and change management
  • Partner with other workstream leads to inform global program implementation plans considering all needed program data deliverable execution details and cross program interdependencies
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate data-cleansing efforts for the purpose of preventing the migration of corrupt, inaccurate, outdated, or redundant information from legacy systems
  • Oversee data rationalization, remediation, enrichment, and preparation activities for the program, coordinating with the Operating Company Data Leaders and Enterprise Data & Analytics Leaders to ensure that data reconciliation is performed
  • Be accountable for defining data mapping & construction, managing data migration and data quality workstreams, and driving data migration delivery for program deployments and enhancements
  • Be accountable for the execution of data governance processes within program team, and for representing the program as a member of the Enterprise Data Governance Council
  • Collaborate with Operating Companies, function, and Enterprise Data to ensure that data control requirements are implemented, and that data quality is managed in alignment with the needs of the business
  • Apply data governance for the program’s application data, including working with business and functional teams to define roles and responsibilities and ensuring clear accountability for the stewardship of Gore’s data assets in sustainment

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years Data Management and Data Governance experience, working across multiple domains of data
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing complex multi-year projects, including experience working with external partners
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a diverse, global team
  • Demonstrated experience leading the strategy and execution of data migrations for SAP implementations
  • Experience working across multiple data domains, and multiple projects and programs, to identify and resolve conflicts relating to data; understanding the broad impact of data related decisions
  • Deep understanding of SAP data structures and architecture, as well as the technical and integration architecture intersections of SAP with other platforms (e.g., SAP MDG, Ariba, SAP IBP, Salesforce, Teamcenter, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of data strategy, data governance, data architecture, and data management best practices best practices
  • Strong influence, partnering, conflict management, facilitation, and communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including the ability to convey complex concepts in a simple manner and relate to business impact and value to leadership
  • Ability to travel 30%

  • Experience championing efforts to create new capabilities; ability to envision a future and influence others to commit to that view or approach
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders to gain commitment and remove roadblocks
  • Experience with an SAP greenfield implementation

 

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed.  Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
