About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will understand Gore’s product application ‘Fitness for Use’ and ensure the proper translation of “Fitness for use” to product performance requirements by utilizing different testing methods and setting up robust sampling plan and control specification; document and communicate product performance in order to help guide business decisions.

 

This role will be located at our facility in Shenzhen FTZ, China.

Responsibilities

  • Assimilate and connect vast amounts of knowledge about materials, formats and capabilities; take appropriate risks to achieve business goals by incorporating diversity of thought to enable optimized solutions, exploring and assessing multiple approaches to solve technical challenges
  • Provide quality engineering support in product development process, product validation and the whole product life cycle via transforming user needs into product specifications, assessing product attributes, defining viable manufacturing approaches and ensuring the product conformance to specifications and link to fitness-for-use
  • Analyze and optimize validated processes and equipment based on product and operational requirements to initiate improvement opportunities and drive implementation effort
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to determine root cause, troubleshooting customer complaint & non-conforming products, raw materials, and components, and developing and implementing corrective and preventative action
  • Ensure reliable, environmentally sound, safe and efficient processes and test methods in place to monitor product performance in daily business; Develop and optimize test methods based on data analysis through statistical techniques
  • Document works via reports, technology notebooks, quality system and designed file entries

 

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. or above of Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Textile and Engineering relevant or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of quality engineering, technical or quality relevant experience, have solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals & statistical tools and demonstrated ability to apply them in the course of development, optimization and troubleshooting activities
  • Track record of success in driving/supporting/participating project for product development, product quality control & improvement, demonstrated ability to  initiate and drive trouble shooting & root cause analysis to completion in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
  • Strong team player, high initiative, easy-going and ready to share valuable experience with others. Matured personality with ability to communicate and set up network with a broad range of functional teams and influence team members effectively
  • Eager and fast to learn new things
  • Excellent command of English in business environment
  • Abilty to travel about 5% to 10%

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Multinational company working experience is preferred
  • Complex project management & new product introduction & product validation experience
  • Experience with quality system, be familiar with textile, film/adhesive
