About the Role
We are looking for a Merchandiser to join our APAC VBU Supply Chain Team in Shenzhen who will be responsible for ensuring effective execution of the Procure to Pay Process for our VBU’s brands including the materials planning, order placement, bulk inspection, shipment arrangement, goods receiving and timely payments to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products.
This role will be joining a fast-paced environment with focus on merchandising for multiple premium apparel brands (SITKA, GORE®WEAR) that are part of Gore Fabrics Vertical Business Unit (VBU).
Responsibilities
- Responsible for full merchandising duties from materials planning to salesman sample and bulk order delivery
- Prepare purchase orders and work closely with suppliers on capacity booking, greige planning, ordering and production schedules
- Follow up orders with suppliers and internal parties to track fit and Lab dips approvals and ensure on-time delivery
- Monitor factory production schedule using bulk WIP report to ensure on time delivery and sustain high quality product
- Instruct factory to inspect the product by using third party quality inspector and follow up bulk inspection
- Handle enquiries with fabric mills, garment suppliers, 3rd party inspection and 3rd Party Logistics…etc.
- Handle merchandising related documents, give shipping instructions and follow shipment and payment
- Partners with Product Development, Demand Planning, Sourcing, Compliance and Quality teams to resolve fabric, trims, capacity, or quality issues including data discrepancy.
- Provide support in onboarding new suppliers and supplier performance review and liaise with suppliers to carry out corrective action in the assigned factory
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with master’s degree preferred
- 5 years or above merchandising or planning experience in Multinational Apparels Corporation, nice to have knowledge in textile or garments
- Experience in sample development/production follow up and with direct factory production exposure
- Extensive knowledge of ERP platforms with a focus on Supply Chain
- Ability to communicate across multiple cultural and experience levels, both internally and externally
- Proven experience in plan, prioritize and adapt to change while achieving and maintaining results for multiple projects
- Ability to work independently to drive initiatives, prioritize and multi-task while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude.
- Responsible and organized, able to work under tight schedules and pressure
- Nice to have experience in POWR BI, SQL, Python and analytics supporting merchandising data will be an advantage
- Travel required 3-5% but not frequently
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Hands-On Experience with SAP or Oracle, POWR BI, SQL, Python
- Knowledge of Incoterms®
