About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Field Sales Associate to join our Consumer business in Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of customers in the Japan Consumer segment, with primary responsibility for one of our key strategic accounts, driving sustainable business growth and strengthening long-term customer partnerships across Head-to-Toe product forms.
You will work closely with customers as well as GORE’s regional and global cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities, develop and execute account strategies, and translate market, consumer, and customer insights into actionable growth plans.
This role requires strong commercial experience in the textile, yarn, apparel, or related industries, together with the ability to manage multiple customer relationships and priorities while working effectively in an international and highly collaborative environment.
This role will be located in Tokyo Japan.
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for the sustained health, growth, and development of the assigned key account, including achievement of sales goals and customer satisfaction/loyalty objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and execute long-term account strategies, translating business and market insights into clear objectives, priorities, opportunities, and action plans.
- Understand the customer's business, strategy, organization, decision-making processes, product portfolio, consumers, and competitive environment to identify opportunities for mutual growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across different levels and functions within the customer organization.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities by connecting customer and consumer needs with Gore's technologies, products, brand, and capabilities.
- Drive the sales process and manage the business pipeline to achieve sustainable short- and long-term growth.
- Lead and coordinate key account activities and development projects in collaboration with GORE's cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, Application Engineering, Product Specialists, and other regional/global stakeholders.
- Create a clear account team vision and strategy, align resources, establish priorities, and drive effective execution across the account team.
- Communicate complex customer, market, and business information clearly and concisely to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Provide relevant customer, market, competitor, and industry insights to support Consumer segment and Business Unit strategy and decision-making.
- Demonstrate GORE leadership capabilities by taking ownership, building trust, influencing without authority, enabling collaboration, making sound business decisions, and driving results.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant B2B sales, account management, or business development experience, preferably within the textile, yarn, apparel, or related industries.
- Experience may come from a manufacturer, trading company, textile/yarn supplier, apparel company, or other relevant industry organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop strategic customer relationships and translate customer needs into business opportunities.
- Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to understand customer business models, market dynamics, competitive environments, and value chains.
- Ability to think strategically while also driving disciplined execution and delivering business results.
- Strong communication, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across different organizational levels and functions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and matrix organization, including collaboration with regional and global stakeholders.
- Business-level English communication skills are required, including the ability to participate actively in meetings, discussions, and presentations with regional and global Segment and Business Unit teams.
- Native or professional-level Japanese communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including ownership, proactive problem solving, collaboration, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to influence others without formal authority.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required to support customers and business activities.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the outdoor/sports category is preferred
- Experience handling premium ingredient products the understanding of brand value is preferred
