About the Role

We are looking for a Trade Compliance Specialist (Free Trade Agreements & Origin) as part of our regional Global Trade Team EMEA who drives compliance and value creation from preferential trade programs.

The role determines preferential origin for FTA claims, sets commercial (non‑preferential) country of origin for customs and trade docs, manages Long-Term-Suppliers-Declarations (LTSD) end‑to‑end, and partners with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to qualify Bills of Materials (BOMs) for origin and FTA eligibility. The role includes entering accurate origin data in ERP & Trade systems, maintaining robust documentation for audits, and maximizing duty savings while minimizing risk. A good know-how of excel is essential being the main tool of analyzing necessary data to perform this job. Some of your work would be to assist with the other trade modules such as Import & Export.

This position will be located at our facility in Putzbrunn or Pleinfeld, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement. 

Responsibilities

  • Examination, determination and proof of the commercial and preferential origin status in compliance with the relevant legal provisions.
  • Perform BOM costed analysis using supplier origin data and HS classifications to determine eligibility for our own exports and our European Community (EC) customer’s needs.
  • Issue, track and archive preferential origin statements by shipment, handing over to Export team to execute shipment with correct statement of origin.
  • Run the annual Long-Term-Suppliers-Declaration (LTSD) campaign from Suppliers to Gore and from Gore to European Community (EC) customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Completed commercial training (apprenticeship), ideally as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk or industrial, wholesale, and foreign trade clerk.
  • Minimum of 3 years of all-round experience in customs & trade, or comparable commercial experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Fluent German and good English skills.
  • High level of customer and service orientation.
  • Committed, independent, and team-oriented approach to work.
  • Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration within the business unit in a dynamic environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Expertise in customs law, knowledge of preferential law is an advantage
  • Confident handling of MS Office (mainly Excell)
  • Ideally SAP knowledge
