About the Role

We are looking for a Warehouse Shipping / Receiving associate to join our Fabric Logistics team and work the 2nd Shift. This role will work closely with the manufacturing area, adjusting goals and priorities to match changes in business needs, while actively supporting the material handling, shipping, receiving, and recycling needs of the facility. Standard hours are 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for overtime as needed. 

 

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland. 

 

Pay and Benefits:

  • $21 - $28 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Pull and stage raw materials and supplies for manufacturing, utilizing stand up and or sit-down forklifts, along with all other material handling equipment. 
  • Manage material movement to and from manufacturing, on the shipping and receiving docks and or manufacturing platform staging locations including racks, carts, and supplies. 
  • Staging intermediate materials and preparing shipping documentation for interplant delivery
  • Develop competence in all related software systems, Enterprise Resource Planning, and the Manufacturing Execution System to perform the necessary transactions (SAP knowledge is a plus). 
  • Work in a manufacturing environment while adhering to PPE, and procedural requirements. 
  • Utilize proper material handling equipment to unload/load inbound/outbound freight.
  • Provide material handling support to all manufacturing and innovation teams.
  • Collect recyclables from all the manufacturing areas and work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Team to ensure compliance. 
  • Be responsible for personal development, including appropriate education and training.
  • Learn, understand, and promote the Gore culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have experience or be willing to learn how to operate a forklift, and all other material handling equipment in a process-oriented environment.
  • Can bend and lift repetitively (<35 lbs), as required to support the operation. 
  • Demonstrated computer system experience, and the ability to learn new systems as required by the business.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated basic reading and math skills (metric system). 
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills are required, with a proven ability to anticipate, recognize, and analyze problems and implement appropriate solutions. 
  • Demonstrated history of making good product quality decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as a team member within, and across functions. 
  • Flexibility, and the ability to adjust quickly to change, is essential.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning System and Transportation Management System
  • Having a minimum of 1 year logistics-warehouse experience
  • Experience using Warehouse Power Industrial Equipment is a plus.
