About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Web Technical Lead/Sr. Dev Ops/Sr. Developer to join our GMDIT team in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance Drupal-based web solutions. You will support day-to-day run/maintain operations including hands on development and lead the Bengaluru Drupal Pod comprised of a developer, scrum master/business analysts and QA. Additionally, you will inform/lead technical decisions in collaboration with Product Owners, Architects and vendor/partners to ensure adherence to best practices to deliver robust digital platforms supporting multiple business units and global sites. Responsibilities

•    Serves as the Technical Lead of the Drupal Pod in partnership with the Web Product Owner, Marketing IT leader, Architecture team, Customer Identity team, and Web Admi. 
•    Architects and implements Drupal solutions to ensure platform evolution, scalability, security, and performance.
•    Leads technical design, code governance, and integration with third-party systems (Adobe, AWS, Azure/MS Dynamics, Boomi, etc.).  
•    Defines and enforces Drupal framework, coding standards, security guidelines, documentation practices, and architectural patterns across all Drupal projects in compliance with enterprise standards. 
•    Directs backend (PHP, Drupal) and frontend (Angular, HTML, CSS, JS) development, ensuring optimal performance and security, while evaluating and selecting new technologies, modules, and tools to enhance platform capabilities.
•    Oversees CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategy, version upgrades, module deprecations. 
•    Reviews critical security tickets to determine risks and prioritization in collaboration with SM/BA and Architecture teams.  
•    Collaborates with Web Product owner, Architecture, vendor/partners, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.  
•    Supports the management of hosting environments (Pantheon, AWS, Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and supports 24/7 operations, while also mentoring development teams, driving Agile methodologies (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint), and participating in sprint planning and backlog prioritization.  
•    Remains current with all relevant technologies and best practices, contributing new ideas to the team where needed.

 

Required Qualifications

•    5-7 years of demonstrated experience with Drupal migration and upgrade projects.
•    Strong proficiency with Drupal 10/11 including custom module and theme development.
•    Excellent knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and SQL.
•    Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).  
•    Solid understanding of web security principles and best practices.  
•    Understanding of Customer Identity Solutions including PING, Microsoft Entra preferred.    
•    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, experience with creating presentations for complex web technology solutions.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities (with both technical and non-technical audiences), including demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively across diverse stakeholders.

•    Travel ~10%.

 

Desired Qualifications

•    Familiarity with DevOps practices, automated testing, and continuous integration, as well as knowledge of cloud hosting environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Pantheon, Acquia).
•    Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and multilingual site management.
•    Experience in Medical Device, Pharma, or regulated industries preferred.
