About the Role

Gore Medical Japan is looking for an Aortic Product Manager to join the Marketing team in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing regional product plans and marketing strategy to ensure product growth and maintenance in concert with Sales, Functional Marketing, Category Manager, Product Specialist, operations and global counterparts. This role focuses on key customers and Abdominal and Accessory Products within marketing.  

Responsibilities

  • Understand/analyze customer unmet needs and translate to global and local counterparts for product line extensions and new product development activities. 
  • Identify product growth and expansion opportunities in the region 
  • Translate customer insights into differentiated product value propositions and positioning for priority segments. 
  • Implement effective marketing strategies to launch, grow, or defend on market products across the region. 
  • Monitor regional product pricing and provide pricing input to Regional BG Marketing Leader; accountable to product gross margin to meet profitability targets. 
  • Support global counterparts in identification of product improvement opportunities and management of regional supply planning. 
  • Collaborate with medical function team member counterparts such as Regulatory and Clinical Affairs. 
  • Responsible for regional product go-to-market strategy and launch execution to include country level launch phasing, sales channel training plans, translation of global promotional materials, regional launch metrics collection and reporting, etc.  
  • Responsible for making sure that high quality content is submitted for internal reviews as content owner. 
  • Collaborate with Regional MarCom partner to execute translated  collaterals.  
  • Work closely with local sales teams on pricing and contracting strategies and implementation with support from Regional BG Marketing Leader. 
  • Ensure Gore-sponsored communications are consistent with labeling   
  • As a part of new product/indication launch strategy, support the clinical/regulatory strategy, such as discussion with the government body, and primarily drive negotiation with scientific societies, lobbying and partnering with KOLs in proper-use guideline setting, etc. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, with advanced degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 7 years’ marketing experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical or life sciences industries 
  • Experience in Endovascular preferred (experience in aortic field is even more preferred). 
  • Demonstrated experience:  
    • Partner with sales organization and functional partners to lead successful completion of projects and drive profitable growth. 
    • Managing and prioritizing multiple projects  
    • Develop relationships with physicians and key opinion leaders.  
    • Demonstrated performance track record within relevant industry and function. 
  • Ability to: 
    • Read and interpret scientific or clinical publications and data. 
    • Navigating ambiguity and change 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Be a self-starter who derives energy from winning as a team and be energized by working with a team of passionate associates 
  •  Business-level fluency in both Japanese and English is required.  
  • Ability to travel overnight (up to 35%)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the vascular medical device industry 

  • Experience in market development or product management in medical industry 

  • MBA or other advanced degree
